Your barrel will be registered in your name and held in an UK Government approved bonded warehouse in Scotland. You may transfer, gift or sell ownership at any time.
Stored in Scotland
Scotch whisky barrels must legally be matured in Scotland. Your barrel rests under professional warehouse conditions, fully insured and duty-free while in bond.
Hold or bottle
You decide how and when your cask evolves: some owners hold long term, some bottle for a milestone and some create staged releases over time.
Create your own
The final expression is shaped by you - choose your bottle shape, label design and personalised name. You don’t need to bottle the full cask at once.

Time is the essence of Scotch whisky
Not only does the flavour of your whisky develop over years, each year in the barrel represents another year of maturation - a whisky you take ownership of at 10 years can become 11, 12 or 15 years old as it continues to mature, unlike a bottled 12 year old whisky, which will always remain a 12 year old whisky. Over longer periods, this can result in increasingly rare aged spirit, which often enhances the desirability and value of your barrel.

The flavour of your Scotch whisky
Every distillery has its own production methods, which help shape the spirit’s initial flavour and character. As it rests in the barrel, the wood begins to influence the spirit further, adding depth, complexity and character over time. We provide an estimated Distillation Profile and Maturation Route for each barrel, so you can understand more about its flavour at source and how the wood is expected to influence the spirit over time.
Tax, storage and costs
While in bond, no duty or VAT is payable. Tax applies only when whisky leaves bond. Applicable excise, VAT and local import duties depend on destination. We calculate and manage all requirements at release.
