History

1879: First spirit officially produced.
1903: Distillery rebuilt and expanded following a fire.
1963: Significant modernisation and still expansion completed.
1987: Official “The Glenrothes” single malt gains prominence.
1990s: Vintage release strategy differentiates the brand in premium markets.
2010: Ownership transferred to The Edrington Group.
2017: Brand refreshed with age-statement-focused core range.
