About Royal Brackla

Royal Brackla Distillery is regarded as one of Scotland’s most prestigious and historically significant distilleries, owned by John Dewar & Sons of Bacardi. In 1833, it became the first Scotch whisky distillery ever granted a Royal Warrant by King William IV to earn the title “The King’s Own Whisky". Today, Royal Brackla is recognised for its refined Highland character and luxurious cask finishes.

History

1833 — Granted a Royal Warrant by King William IV
1898 — Distillery rebuilt and modernised
1943–1945 — Production paused during the WW2
1991 — Distillery officially reopened
1998 — Acquired and operated by John Dewar & Sons, part of Bacardi
2019 — Relaunched globally with premium single malt collection
